Good night, Sadako. Good night, Tumblr.
Someone uploaded the Japanese dub of The Transformers: The Movie on YouTube. I watched it.
New things I learned about Japanese Transformers:
Grimlock does indeed say “Me Grimlock” in Japanese (俺グリムロック)
"Till all are one" is 「宇宙を一つに」("The universe becomes one" …I think)
Spike still says “shit” (くそ) during that scene. Not surprising since くそ is such a common exclamation in Japanese (and they probably said it plenty of other times in the Japanese dub), but still, nice to see.
In Japanese, the universal greeting is not “Baa weep granna weep ninny bong”, but “Baa weep granna wee-pinny bong”. This is important stuff.
The Quintesson judge (the one with the Giger Alien head) has a super badass voice in Japanese.
Part of Wreck-Gar’s TV-slogan-derived language is “Christmas Bargain”
Today’s the last day for you, Galvatron!
